The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. S. NithyaDevi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Goverment Arts and Science College, Anthiyur.

The seminar on “Navigating Career Paths and Industry Demands” focused on helping individuals understand the evolving job market and how to adapt to industry trends. Key discussions revolved around the rapid growth of tech industries, the rise of remote work, and emerging fields like AI, cybersecurity, and sustainability, all of which are shaping career opportunities. The importance of continuous learning, skill development, and flexibility in career planning was emphasized, as well as the role of mentorship and networking. Participants were encouraged to align their personal strengths with industry needs and remain adaptable in the face of changing demands to ensure long-term career success.

Enriching Three-Day Industrial Visit to Kerala for BCA (2022-2025) Batch

To provide students with valuable insights into various aspects of academic life and different locations through an industrial and recreational trip. The three-day industrial visit to Kerala provided the 3rd BCA students of the 2022-2025 batch with a diverse and enriching experience. The trip encompassed visits to scenic locations in Vagamon, the coastal beauty of Varkala, and the historical and modern attractions of Kochi. Students had the opportunity to explore natural landscapes, cultural sites, and bustling urban areas. The combination of sightseeing and recreational activities offered a well-rounded experience, fostering camaraderie among the students and providing a break from their regular academic routine. The faculty coordinators ensured the smooth execution of the trip and the safety of the students.

Workshop on "IoT Masterclass: Connect, Innovate, Automate"

January 21,2025, Wednesday. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. N.P. Revathy, Associate Professor, Department of BCA, Gobi Arts and Science College. In her address, Dr. N. P Revathy highlighted the importance of IoT in today’s world and its potential to revolutionize various industries. She also emphasized the need for students to acquire the necessary skills to participate in this exciting field.

The workshop covered a wide range of topics, including the basics of IoT, sensors and actuators, communication protocols, cloud computing, and security. The students also had the opportunity to work on a hands-on project to build a simple IoT device.

The workshop was a great success, with 240 students participating and gaining a valuable understanding of IoT.

"The Java Developer’s Toolkit: Essential Skills"

October 17, 2024,  130 undergraduate students, including those from II-BCA, II-BSc (IT), II-BSc (Cybersecurity) attended the workshop and gained valuable insights into Java programming. The Java Developer’s Toolkit program, designed to enhance essential programming skills among students, successfully benefited 118 participants. The initiative focused on equipping students with a strong foundation in Java, covering core concepts such as object-oriented programming, exception handling, and data structures. Practical coding sessions complemented theoretical learning, fostering a hands-on approach to solving real-world problems. Students engaged in collaborative activities and mini-projects, enhancing their teamwork and application skills. This comprehensive program not only prepared participants for academic excellence but also laid the groundwork for their professional development in the competitive IT industry.

The Department of Computer Applications organized a Guest Lecture titled “Unlocking Potential: The Power of Preparation for Placement” to empower students with strategies for excelling in placements. The event, attended by around 350 undergraduate students from BCA, BSc IT, and BSc Cybersecurity, featured an engaging session by Mr. S. Jagadeesan, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, Nandha Engineering College, Erode. The lecture emphasized the significance of preparation, self-assessment, and skill development to meet industry expectations. The program included motivational addresses by the department head, principal, and vice principal, fostering an inspiring atmosphere. Students gained valuable insights into placement preparation, boosting their confidence and readiness for professional challenges

Aytha Poojai Celebration - 10-10-2024

Ayudha Pooja celebration in college can be a vibrant and meaningful event, combining tradition with modern relevance. The venue can be decorated with flowers, rangolis, and lamps, creating a festive atmosphere. The focus can be on blessing tools, including modern technology like computers and lab equipment, aligning with the department’s tech focus.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION - 05.09.2024

The event featured speeches by students, including a moving address from the head students and personal reflections from the class topper, all expressing deep gratitude for the teachers’ guidance and dedication. Students also performed songs, dances, and skits to show their appreciation. The celebration concluded with students presenting hand-made cards and tokens of gratitude, while the principal commended the teachers for their hard work, making the day memorable for everyone.

On August 22, 2024, the Department of Computer Applications proudly hosted its Association Inauguration and Freshers Day Celebration, marking a significant start to the academic year. However, some students struggle with the system’s complexity and the steep learning curve, and they also face challenges related to the cost and accessibility of Oracle’s tools.
